- Hudson jeans are a great addition to your closet as they have a signature triangle pocket which will fabricate shape for the buttocks.
- Red Engine jeans will run a size small, so do not be discouraged! Be sure to wash these inside out and by themselves (especially the first time) as they will bleed onto other clothes in the washer. Hand dry or tumble dry low.
- True Religion has a few different types of denim that they use. The more expensive selections, like the Billy, are made from thicker material and will run at least a size small and will not stretch out very much.
- Seven for All Mankind will normally run a size small and they will be very long.
- Joe's Jeans will run a size small, but have a considerable amount of stretch to them, so buy them a smidge tight, or wear them for half an hour in-store to see how the stretch factor affects these jeans.
- Denim fabric weight runs from 5 oz (lightest) to 20 oz (heaviest). Light weight denim is softer but more susceptible to wear and tear.
- The more unprocessed the denim the more likely it is to bleed. The first time you wash your jeans put them in alone to avoid the dye marking other clothes.
- Take care when putting on jeans with distressing, it is easy to put your foot through a small hole and make it a much larger one.
- Wash your jeans before taking them to a tailor.
- Have the tailor put the original hem back on your jeans to maintain the look and style.Put your jeans in the dryer to help them snap back to their original shape if they have stretched out a bit from wearing. True Religion in particular seems to stretch out as you wear them throughout the day. Be sure to only dry them for 5 minutes or so. In general people should hang dry their designer jeans because drying them makes them lose elasticity over time.
- Wash your jeans inside out to keep them from fading and to protect details such as Swarovski crystals.
- If the zipper lays flat, it’s a good fit.
