The Denim Fit Guide At Urban Minx |
BOOTCUT
Tapered through the thigh and knee with a slight flare at the leg opening. | |
WIDE LEG
Sometimes known as a sailor cut, these jeans are fitted through the hip, flared through the leg, with a large leg opening. |
 |
SKINNY
Snug from the top to the bottom. Otherwise known as a cigarette leg, these jeans are fitted through the calf. | | FLARE LEG
The flare leg is similar to the wide leg, however unlike the wide leg, the flare is tapered through the knee and then bells out to a generous leg opening. |
 |
RIGID
The jean has zero stretch. Some people prefer rigid jeans as they keep their shape better than stretch jeans; however they can lack in comfort. | | HIGH-RISE
Very fashionable at present, the high-rise jean hits at the waist or just above. Some fashion forward styles hit right under the chest. |
 |
STRAIGHT LEG
Similar to the skinny jean, however the fit is looser through the calf. | | TROUSER JEAN
Cut like a dress pant, but in denim. Looser through the leg and rear. Flat fronted with slit back pockets. |
