Prairie Underground![]()
![]() Prairie Underground has a sort of laid-back, eco chic sensibility. Based in Seattle, this line of wearable knits combines organic cotton with funky flattering design. The founders, Davora Lindner and Camilla Eckersley grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska. Both girls love music and clothes. Davora pursued a career as a sculptor, exhibiting nationally. Camilla spent nine years working in the apparel industry designing lingerie for Storm Leather and most recently designed for Rebecca Beeson. Several years ago, when both were contemplating career changes, Camilla gave Davora a call and asked if she wanted to help her start a clothing line. That was in 2004. Now Davora is co-designer and head of marketing and Camilla is co-designer and head of production. Together they have created an eco-friendly line that uses organic cotton and hemp to construct its pieces, making sure to finish them with unusual, fashion-forward touches. Prairie Underground hails some of the most innovative design using natural fibers. They are ultra-comfortable, with a great fit, while also being approachable and feminine.
