 London-based Tara Gelpey formed Blush B-Lush quite simply out of pure indulgence and a desire to satisfy her need for a truly beautiful bag to carry her everyday life around in. Tara worked in costume design for several years developing a strong passion for materials, good design, and a keen eye for detail. The urge to create her own perfect bag came to the fore when she just could not find a contemporary designer bag that combined beauty, style, and practicality. Tara's collections are inspired by nature; with the use of appliqué and hand work, birds and flowers come to life. She loves using pony skin and leather as a medium to work with, as it is soft, versatile, and becomes more beautiful with time. Every bag is carefully handcrafted with tassels, bells, and pom poms to play with. Designed for comfort, each Blush B-Lush bag is lined with sumptuous soft suede and leather and has a pocket system for all your essentials. Everything, even down to the zip sliders, solid brass rings, and studs shows a personal touch and attention to detail. Even though she is London-based, Tara spends a great deal of her time in the countryside were she gathers inspiration from her love of wildlife and flowers. Designer Highlights The signature bag that expresses the Blush B-Lush message is "Isabelle." The combined use of rich Napa leather, soft ivory pony skin, solid brass bells, and studs have created a hard but soft edge with a hint of the past. Tara Gelpey, the designer of British Blush B-Lush handbags, was brought up traveling extensively and spent a significant part of her childhood in the East. Her parents were art collectors, and her mother would spend days scouring the antique clothes stores, a passion Tara has fortunately inherited. |
